Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for the Energy & Industrial Group in Clayton, MO. The role emphasizes civil design for power plants, substations, and transmission lines within a multi-disciplined team.

You will prepare calculations, designs, and specifications for site development, coordinate with project managers and clients, and potentially lead junior engineers. Occasional travel and a hybrid schedule are involved.

Qualifications

• This position requires a BSCE from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license or ability to earn a PE license is required.
• Five+ years in a project team environment for industrial design, with site grading, earthwork, storm water, and road/track design.
• Experience in technical writing for reports, calculations, and specifications.
• Experience in obtaining site permits from regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations relating to storm water drainage, sanitary sewer systems, pavement thickness, ponds and landfills, and earthwork for permitting and design.
• Prepare technical specifications to define construction requirements.
• Prepare site layout, grading, and drainage designs, and work with designers to portray designs in 3-D models and drawings.
• Design storm drainage systems, roads, trackwork, water storage and wastewater disposal ponds, and landfills.
• Review contractor and material submittals for conformity with specifications.
• Travel to client offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification.
