Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to own complex services and end-to-end delivery within Community and Consumer Banking. You will influence architecture, drive engineering practices, and partner with product and operations to deliver resilient platforms and superior client experiences.

You will lead technical design across services, implement event-driven architectures with Kafka, and mentor teams while improving observability and release readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on software engineering experience
• Experience with microservices and large-scale APIs
• Proven experience with Java/Spring Boot and modern web frameworks
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture
• Strong SQL skills; NoSQL experience beneficial
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and secure coding practices

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex full-stack capabilities across services and UIs (Java, Spring Boot, React/Angular)
• Drive event-driven patterns using Kafka (idempotency, retries, ordering, DLQ)
• Improve CI/CD, testing, and release readiness practices
• Own production excellence: reduce incidents, improve RCA, tune performance
• Enhance observability with metrics, dashboards, logs, alerts
• Mentor engineers and promote reusable patterns across squads
• Align delivery plans with business/operations teams; manage technical risk
• Promote AI-assisted coding practices with validated outputs and secure patterns
• Apply SDLC tools and automation to improve value at scale
