Job summary

We are seeking a Senior Lead, Java Application Developer for S&P Dow Jones Indices. Hybrid role with 2 days onsite weekly in NYC or Princeton, NJ, and the rest remote. Lead, design, and support web-based applications and backend systems, mentoring developers and ensuring delivery excellence across projects.

The role requires 10+ years in Java development, strong J2EE/JMS/EJB skills, and solid SQL. Preferred expertise includes CI/CD, AWS, and QA automation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java development experience with J2EE, JMS, and EJB.
• Proven experience leading software development teams or projects.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of Java/J2EE applications for SPDJI systems and websites.
• Provide technical guidance to team members across development, testing, and deployment.
• Develop web apps with rich front-ends and backend integrations.
• Conduct system performance tuning and troubleshoot issues.
• Interface with databases using advanced SQL/PLSQL.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices.
• Collaborate with business users, product owners, and IT stakeholders.
