Job summary

J.S. Held seeks an Associate Director to join its Construction Advisory & Disputes Team in Nashville. The role focuses on construction claims, delay analysis, and dispute resolution, with emphasis on forensic delay analysis and expert report preparation.

The candidate will lead on complex projects, manage client relations, and present findings under tight deadlines. Travel may be required; experience on large engineering ventures is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in forensic delay analysis in construction/engineering.
• Undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or similar.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Chartered professional status, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years on-site construction experience with engineering or construction firms.
• Excellent oral and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional and client-facing with ability to build trust.
• Strong technical underpinning in project planning.
• Relationship building and strong interpersonal skills.
• Flexible approach to work and ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead assistant to the Delay Expert(s) providing forensic delay analysis.
• Contribute to the preparation of expert reports.
• Prepare presentations for client communications.
• Engage in client interaction and manage relationships.
• Assist in promoting construction advisory services.
• Travel as required.
