Job summary

Day & Zimmermann is seeking a Lead Estimator to join the DZMC Projects team on advanced class greenfield construction projects in the US. This senior role runs complete estimates, validates quantities and pricing, and guides junior estimators through complex tasks.

The candidate should have 8+ years in estimating with a bachelor’s in engineering or related field; PMP is a plus. Salary ranges from $130,000 to $156,000 and includes comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience) Required
• 8+ years experience (6-10+ years preferred) in estimating or related field
• PMI PMP certification a plus
• Computer proficiency certifications a plus or equivalent education

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complete project estimates, delegate tasks to junior estimators, ensure accuracy of quantities and pricing
• Develop and validate quantities, material pricing, craft wage rates, and manhours using industry data
• Manage estimating systems, shells, templates, and reports; develop summaries for management review
• Identify estimating risks, develop contingency costs, support risk registers, and provide input to proposals
• Interface with Construction, Legal, Procurement, and other departments to evaluate pricing and strategy
• Prepare and present estimate review packages and provide guidance to junior estimators
