Job summary

Day & Zimmermann Maintenance and Construction (DZMC) seeks a Lead Estimator for advanced greenfield projects in the US. The role serves as the senior estimating authority, leading junior estimators and delivering complete estimates with robust quantities, pricing and risk analysis.

You will develop estimates from industry data and subcontractor input, manage estimating systems, and present reviews to management and clients.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of estimating systems, templates, WBS codes, and unit rates.
Ability to develop and validate quantities, pricing, manhours, and productivity factors.
Strong understanding of construction execution, contracts, and commercial risk.
Ability to prepare and present estimate reviews to management and clients.
Proven ability to lead estimating efforts and mentor junior estimators.

Responsibilities

Lead development of complete project estimates, delegate estimating tasks to junior estimators, and ensure accuracy and completeness of quantities, pricing, and assumptions.
Develop and validate quantities, material pricing, craft wage rates, and manhours using industry data, historical information, and subcontractor input.
Manage estimating systems, estimate shells, templates, and reports; develop summaries and detailed outputs for management review.
Identify estimating risks, develop contingency costs, support risk registers, and provide estimating input to proposals and commercial reviews.
Interface with Construction, Legal, Procurement, and other departments to evaluate pricing, execution strategy, and estimate assumptions.
Prepare and present estimate review packages, support management reviews, and provide technical guidance to junior estimators.
