Job summary

The Citi Corporate Legal Department seeks a Senior Lead Counsel 1 to provide broad commercial legal support on technology transactions, AI, and outsourcing across global businesses. You will negotiate various contracts and work closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, HR and Enterprise Operations & Technology.

This role requires pragmatic judgment, proactive risk management, and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

7+ years of proven general commercial transactional experience.
Experience with banking or financial services a plus.
Ability to analyze issues and draft effective legal solutions.
Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree; Florida bar in good standing or in-house eligibility.

Responsibilities

Provide Citi businesses with legal counsel on technology transactions and product launches.
Draft and negotiate technology agreements, outsourcing, SaaS and other services contracts.
Advise on global frameworks while adapting to local regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance and IT across Citi’s functions.
Identify risk, provide strategic, business-oriented legal solutions, and escalate where needed.
Monitor complex issues and maintain strong ethical and compliance standards.
