Job summary

The University of Rochester seeks a Sr Research Specialist to lead LC-MS/MS assay development, validation, and implementation within the UR Research laboratory. You will drive regulatory compliance, troubleshoot complex assays, and guide technology innovations across clinical testing platforms.

You will collaborate with clinicians and researchers to expand testing capabilities and ensure high-quality outputs that advance translational science and patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years supporting researchers in relevant labs.
• Advanced LC-MS/MS experience, including assay development and validation.
• PhD or Master’s degree preferred for research leadership.
• Experience with regulatory standards (CAP/CLIA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, validation, and implementation of LC-MS/MS clinical assays.
• Oversee test development, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate new instruments and platforms to expand capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership for laboratory-developed tests and innovations.
• Collaborate with leadership, clinicians, and external partners.
