Job summary

The University of Rochester in Rochester, NY is seeking a skilled laboratory specialist to perform complex laboratory assignments, plan experiments, and support research activities within the Med M&D-Aab CardiovascResInst.

You will serve as a unit operations liaison, ensure compliance with safety and departmental policies, and mentor lower-level technicians while managing data and preparing reports for publication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 5 years experience with performing basic sampling, monitoring or research activities; compiling and collecting data and preparing reports required.
• Associate's degree in Health Science, Biology, Chemistry or other science related field of study preferred.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex laboratory assignments, planning and conducting experiments of limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.
• Leads tasks associated with research activities and lab support for lower-level technicians.
• Serves as unit operations liaison to ensure compliance with departmental or University policies, procedures, and defined internal controls.
• Ensures accountability and stewardship of University resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental standards and procedures.
