Job summary

Jobot in Pittsburgh is seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to oversee the firm’s accounting and financial operations. You will lead day-to-day accounting, manage staff, strengthen internal controls, and provide timely financial information to firm leadership.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, 7+ years of experience, CPA preferred but not required, and strong Excel and accounting software skills. This on-site role offers strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience supervising accounting personnel.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, cash management, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting, billing, or practice-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Manage billing, collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash-management functions.
• Monitor work in process, accounts-receivable aging, collections, realization, and other law-firm performance metrics.
• Oversee client trust accounting, reconciliations, compliance procedures, and related internal controls.
• Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
