Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled Large Volume Metrologist to join our Metrology team. You will perform high-accuracy dimensional measurements for rocket manufacturing, assembly, and integration, using SA and laser trackers to ensure tolerances meet safety standards.

Responsibilities include creating unified measurement networks, executing USMNs, and reading complex drawings with GD&T while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience in large volume metrology or related precision measurement field.
• Proficiency in Spatial Analyzer (SA) software.
• Demonstrated experience operating laser trackers (Leica preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience performing instrument network solutions (USMN) and multi-instrument tie-ins within SA.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions with high accuracy and repeatability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident for export-controlled tech access.

Responsibilities

• Perform large volume metrology measurements using laser trackers and precision instruments in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate and configure Spatial Analyzer as the primary software platform.
• Tie multiple instruments within SA to create unified measurement networks across large spaces.
• Execute USMN networks and relationship fits to optimize measurement accuracy.
• Perform best-fit alignments, nominal comparisons, and geometric analyses using SA.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T requirements.
• Follow written measurement procedures and work instructions with strict attention to detail.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to support milestones.
