Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to develop new laser annealing applications and provide process support for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

The role focuses on translating customer challenges into production-ready solutions and collaborating across engineering, service, marketing and sales to drive new opportunities. You will work with Veeco’s laser processing platforms to influence future product capabilities and accelerate technology roadmaps, traveling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of semiconductor process engineering, applications engineering, process integration, or related industry experience.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new laser annealing applications that improve semiconductor device performance, yield, and manufacturability.
• Translating customer process challenges into validated solutions, accelerating adoption of Veeco laser processing technologies.
• Establish and standardize best known methods for process development, process control, and continuous improvement across customer and internal laboratories.
• Drive cross-functional problem resolution with engineering, service, product management, and sales teams to achieve sustainable technical outcomes.
• Evaluate process performance using system diagnostics, experimental data, and statistical analysis to expand application capability and improve tool performance.
• Present technical findings, application results, and product capabilities to customers, executive stakeholders, and commercial teams.
• Train customers and internal teams on process methodology, system operation, and application best practices to improve long-term customer success.
