Job summary

Veeco, Taylor/Austin Texas, is seeking a technically sound Applications Engineer to develop new laser annealing applications and provide process support for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

You will work with customers and internal teams to translate challenges into production-ready solutions, influence future product capabilities, and contribute to strategic roadmaps for Veeco’s laser processing platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of semiconductor process engineering, applications engineering, or related experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new laser annealing applications that improve device performance and manufacturability.
• Translate customer challenges into validated solutions and accelerate adoption of Veeco laser technologies.
• Establish and standardize best practices for process development, control, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate across engineering, service, product management, and sales to achieve customer outcomes.
• Analyze process performance using diagnostics and data to expand capability and improve tool performance.
• Present technical findings and product capabilities to customers and stakeholders.
• Train customers and internal teams on process methodology and system operation.
