American Family Insurance is seeking a lead level property claims adjuster to investigate high exposure homeowner claims, determine liability, and manage complex field assignments. The role is primarily field-based, with 80% in the field and occasional office visits for meetings or trainings.

A Maryland or Pennsylvania location is preferred, and a fleet vehicle is provided. The position reports to a Large Loss Senior Manager and offers relocation support for eligible candidates.

Qualifikationen

• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• 5+ years’ experience handling field property personal lines claims required.
• Prefer someone who has handled claims over $50,000.
• Valid driver’s license required plus an acceptable driving record.

Aufgaben

• Investigate origin and cause of high exposure claims and coordinate with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and experts.
• Participate in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage issues and exposure.
• Handle 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate with insureds and attorneys.
• Respond to customer inquiries, make decisions, and close files.
• Interpret policy coverages and apply to assigned losses; review claim histories.
• Make independent decisions and know when to seek assistance.
• Provide status updates to all parties and mentor less experienced adjusters.
