Job summary

Zego is seeking a Large Loss Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of high‑value motor claims, typically £500k to £5 million, including pre- and post-litigation. You will be a technical expert within a small, highly skilled team, driving strategy and mentoring junior colleagues while coordinating with reinsurers, solicitors, carriers and rehab providers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing high value motor bodily injury claims with a current handling authority of at least £250k.
• Deep knowledge of liability, indemnity, causation, reserving, future losses and the Ogden Discount Rate.
• Experience handling litigated claims and applying CPR and MIB technical disputes.
• Passion for a career in Large Loss and helping shape a growing large loss function.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of high value motor claims typically valued between £500k and £5 million, pre- and post-litigation.
• Communicate effectively with customers, witnesses, insurers, repairers, solicitors and medical agencies to expedite resolutions.
• Serve as a technical expert within the team, offering guidance on large loss scenarios.
• Work with the Motor Major Loss Manager and Head of TP & Complex Claims on strategy and processes.
• Mentor and develop junior team members and share knowledge.
• Maintain reinsurer and carrier relationships with timely updates.
• Investigate, negotiate and settle claims and determine indemnity and liability reserves.
