Job summary

EMC Insurance is seeking an experienced Risk Control professional to lead on-site surveys for large accounts and advise underwriting on risk selection. You will design strategic service plans, identify loss exposures, and deliver actionable mitigation recommendations across diverse industries.

The role requires a Bachelor's in safety or related field with 8 years of risk control experience, plus strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT and NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering or related field and 8 years of risk control experience.
• Advanced knowledge of OSHA, DOT and NFPA safety standards.
• Strong ability to identify loss exposures and recommend mitigations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to educate diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel ~50% and work within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site risk control surveys for large accounts and complex cases.
• Provide expert-level consultation to underwriting and field teams.
• Develop and deliver strategic service plans addressing loss drivers.
• Produce detailed written reports with actionable recommendations.
• Train and mentor junior risk control staff as needed.
