Job summary

EMC Insurance Companies is seeking a seasoned risk control professional to perform on-site surveys and deliver tailored loss-prevention strategies for complex clients. You’ll analyze exposures, prepare reports, and communicate findings to insureds, agents, and underwriting.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field, 5 years of risk control experience, and a CPA/CSO-style certification preferred. Remote options exist for Phoenix-area candidates, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire protection or related field.
• Five years of risk control or safety experience.
• Certified Safety Professional or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs on-site risk control surveys for complex and niche-market policyholders.
• Analyzes exposure and existing controls; prepares risk control reports for insureds and agents.
• Provides risk control recommendations and written guidance to policyholders to reduce losses.
• Advises policyholders on operations, claims trends, and coverage-related improvements.
• Serves as a technical resource within specialized focus areas and mentors teammates.
• Communicates observations to Underwriting to aid renewal decisions.
• Markets risk control services through agency visits and presentations.
