Shield AI seeks a Staff (L4) or Senior Staff (L5) Landing Gear Engineer to own the landing gear architecture and kinematic mechanism design for a high‑profile program. You will perform first‑principles hand calculations, support structural analyses, and manage external suppliers to deliver flight‑ready systems in a rapid development cycle.

The role requires deep hands‑on engineering, capability in CAD/PLM tools, and a track record of delivering hardware under tight timelines.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering or related field.
• 7–12 years of direct aerospace mechanism design experience.

Responsabilités

• Own landing gear architecture definition and trade studies.
• Lead CAD design lifecycle from concept to drawing release.
• Perform hand calculations and FEA for high‑load components.
• Size and select wheels, tires, brakes, actuators for landing/taxi envelopes.
• Prepare technical specs and SOWs for components; evaluate vendors.
• Define verification tests and support flight test operations.
• Provide rapid design changes to meet program milestones.
