Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Aeronautical Engineer (Landing Gear) to join the El Segundo, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA team. You will lead the design, development, and integration of landing gear for an advanced aircraft, identify systems, create 3D models, and perform trade studies.

The role requires expertise in CAD (Siemens NX) and landing gear experience, with collaboration across IPTs and supplier teams.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with aircraft landing gear systems and landing gear design.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Siemens NX).
• Ability to coordinate with multiple IPTs and suppliers; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify existing or conceptual landing gear systems to meet requirements and create 3D models and layouts.
• Develop landing gear system requirements and create specifications, supplier SOWs, and interfaces.
• Lead technical meetings with internal teams and suppliers; provide program progress updates.
