Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry, LLC is seeking a Senior Land Use Planner to join our Planning team in Tualatin, Oregon. You will apply land use knowledge to develop solutions for complex development projects and coordinate with in‑house engineers, surveyors, and landscape professionals.

You’ll manage research, application preparation, schedules, and client interaction, travel occasionally, and contribute to proposal development while advancing your career in a collaborative, growth‑minded

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in planning, landscape architecture, geography, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience interpreting and applying City and County Comprehensive Plans and Development Codes; Knowledge of Oregon’s Statewide Planning System.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Researching property zoning and utility information to ensure regulatory compliance.
Preparing and submitting land use applications including subdivisions, zone changes, and site plans.
Analyzing complex property, transportation, and utility issues to inform client decisions.
Coordinating with in-house engineering, surveying, and landscape teams and permitting agencies.
Developing clear scopes of work for proposals.
Managing project data, schedules, and client communications.
Organizing neighborhood meetings and stakeholder engagement.
