Job summary

Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental is seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor Manager in Aurora, IL, to lead the surveying practice and drive excellence across multiple offices.

The ideal candidate will have a PLS license in Illinois, 10+ years of progressive surveying experience, and a proven ability to mentor staff, manage projects, and foster client relationships while supporting growth and operational improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive land surveying experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Illinois.
• Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Professional Land Surveyors and survey staff across multiple office locations.
• Oversee project execution, workload management, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
• Provide technical leadership and quality assurance for survey projects, deliverables, and regulatory compliance.
• Establish and maintain surveying standards, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
• Mentor and support the professional development of survey personnel while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development initiatives.
• Partner with company leadership to drive operational excellence, pursue growth opportunities, and expand surveying services.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and client feedback to ensure successful project delivery and continuous improvement.
