Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks a Senior Land Development Project Manager to lead site/civil engineering efforts on the I-64 team in Virginia, driving quality plans and strong financial performance.

You will collaborate with engineers and CAD staff, manage client relations and project scope, mentor junior professionals, and pursue new business opportunities in a hybrid, team-based environment across Richmond and Williamsburg.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related degree.
• 11+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects.
• PE licensure in Virginia or obtain within 12 months.
• Alignment with VHB's core values.
• Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management.
• Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Experience in leading and developing project teams for successful project delivery and employee growth.
• Understanding of I-64 and Virginia market.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering project managers, staff, and CAD operators to meet high standards for quality plans and performance.
• Develop and/or support development of site/civil engineering plans for large-scale projects.
• Responsible for project financial performance and client relations.
• Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed.
• Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
• Supervise design team activities and manage development of junior staff.
• Manage small to large projects and develop new opportunities.
• Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions.
