Job summary

McClure is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead a range of high-visibility projects within our Development team in Iowa. The Senior PE will mentor less experienced engineers, guide technical and design decisions, and drive project success through strong leadership and QA/QC practices.

Successful candidates will demonstrate proven team leadership, a PE license, and extensive civil engineering experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
PE license required.
5+ years of engineering experience.
Mentoring and development of junior team members.

Responsibilities

Support VP/Team Leader in monthly leadership meetings to review progress and successes.
Maintain ongoing communication with leadership regarding project needs.
Lead project delivery team by delegating technical tasks and coaching team members.
Perform QA/QC on reports, plans, and specs to ensure industry standards compliance.
Identify project milestones and dependencies.
Lead design team schedules, budgets, and staffing with PM coordination.
Implement team delivery processes and work breakdown structures.
Coordinate with outside disciplines as needed.
Document and implement lessons learned for future projects.
Assess skills of team members and address weaknesses; provide mentorship.
