Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. seeks a Senior Land Development Project Manager in Virginia Beach, Richmond, or Williamsburg. You will lead site/civil engineering design, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive project performance from concept through construction.

You’ll oversee client relations, manage budgets, and mentor junior staff while advancing development opportunities. A PE license is preferred, with Virginia market experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related degree.
• 11+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects.
• PE licensure in Virginia or obtain within 12 months.
• Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management.
• Experience in developing and compiling site plans, construction documents, specs, and engineering reports.
• Experience in leading and developing project teams for successful project delivery and employee growth.
• Understanding of I-64 and Virginia market.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering project managers, staff, and CAD operators to meet high standards for quality plans and financial performance.
• Develop or support site/civil engineering plans and specs for diverse projects (industrial, biotech, healthcare, residential).
• Manage project financial performance and client relations.
• Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting designed systems.
• Attend meetings with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to discuss needs and permitting issues.
• Supervise design team activities and manage junior staff.
• Develop new project opportunities and manage proposals.
