Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Land Design Engineer for a hybrid role that can be based in Raleigh, NC; Atlanta, GA; or Charlotte, NC. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver civil land development projects for industrial, commercial, solar, or mining sectors.

The role emphasizes design, coordination with multiple engineering disciplines, and client-facing responsibilities. A Bachelor’s in Engineering is required, with PE preferred or achievable within six months;

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.
• Ability to engage in multiple projects to complete successful requirement deliveries.
• Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
• 3-8+ years of related experience in civil engineering.
• Computer skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Complete civil engineering designs and the generation of plans and specifications.
• Prepare technical calculations, exhibits and reports in site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and related areas.
• Coordinate with Architects, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineers.
• Perform site visits for job scoping and coordination with survey crews, SUE, Geotech, etc.
• Provide periodic construction support: review RFIs and shop drawings, field inspections, etc.
