Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations of the assigned section(s) and shift(s) under the Laboratory Director/Manager. The role emphasizes oversight of test performance, adherence to policies, and staff development within an exempt pay status.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with CLIA, TJC, CAP, AABB, and hospital standards; coordinating scheduling, budgets, and performance reviews; and maintaining manuals, safety, and quality control

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology required.
• 5 years of experience as medical technologist/CLS/MLS/MLT required.
• Active certification or eligibility for MT/CLS/MLS (ASCP or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Meet lab competency expectations and supervise high, moderate, and waived complexity testing.
• Provide on-site supervision and expert consultation for testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, TJC, CAP, AABB and hospital policies.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate work for assigned sections and shifts.
• Maintain attendance records and department budgets; participate in performance coaching.
• Develop and update procedural manuals; maintain safety and quality control programs.
• Monitor analytic performance, validate test results, and initiate corrective actions when needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot lab equipment; coordinate maintenance with Biomed and vendors.
