Job summary

Mead & Hunt in Bloomington, MN is seeking a full‑time, experienced Architect to lead the architectural delivery of sophisticated laboratory projects nationwide, coordinating with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, a current architectural license, 10+ years of experience, NCARB or equivalent, and willingness to travel ~25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least 10 years of relevant project experience.
• Current architectural license and ability to obtain licensure in additional states as needed.
• NCARB Certification and/or LEED/WELL/AP accreditation are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design, technical development, and project delivery from early planning through occupancy.
• Establish project design goals, technical direction, quality expectations, and deliverable requirements.
• Ensure solutions align with laboratory operational requirements, budgets, and client objectives.
• Provide technical leadership throughout all design and construction phases.
• Coordinate with laboratory planning and multiple engineering disciplines.
• Manage integration of lab equipment, casework, and building infrastructure.
• Lead interdisciplinary coordination meetings and resolve complex issues.
• Mentor architectural staff and support professional development.
• Contribute to growth of Mead & Hunt's national laboratory practice.
