Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Senior Consultant to advise leaders on labor and employee relations within a unionized environment. You will interpret CBAs, conduct investigations, manage grievance processes, and support arbitration and contract negotiations.

The role partners with business leaders to ensure compliant labor practices, analyze metrics, and drive workforce initiatives for engagement and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in labor or employee relations supporting a represented workforce.
• Experience interpreting CBAs, managing grievances, investigations, and labor negotiations.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws including NLRB/EEOC/DOL.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and administer corrective actions per CBAs and policies.
• Advise leaders on grievances and employee relations concerns.
• Manage grievance processes and facilitator readiness.
• Support arbitration activities and act as company witness when needed.
• Draft and review MOAs/MOUs and labor-related agreements.
• Resolve workplace disputes involving employees and union reps.
• Build relationships with union leadership for collaborative problem-solving.
• Provide guidance on CBA interpretation and labor policies.
• Support labor relations strategies and contract negotiations.
