Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Senior Manager, Labor & Employee Relations to guide labor relations leadership and field management in executing our business strategy. The role involves training, campaign leadership, and close collaboration with employees and management across facilities.

The position requires extensive experience in union environments, knowledge of NLRA, and leadership of a Labor Relations team across multiple states. Travel up to 75% is expected.

Qualifications

• Progressive human resources generalist or labor relations experience.
• Experience managing or involved in union election campaigns.
• Strong knowledge of NLRA and related federal/state laws.
• Experience with union avoidance and labor relations training.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures effective implementation of labor relations and positive employee relations strategies.
• Develops and manages labor relations education programs.
• Supervises and directs the Labor Relations team.
• Maintains relationships with employees and improves communication with the Company.
• Addresses employee concerns and proposes solutions to staff and management.
• Responds to grievances in unionized facilities with management.
• Investigates and handles employee complaints as needed.
• Supports employee engagement initiatives and related activities.
• Directs campaigns, elections and related labor matters.
• Provides labor relations advice to internal customers.
