Job summary

Potere Search, LLC is seeking a Senior Counsel (Labor and Employment) based in Gilbert, Arizona, with in-person attendance required at least two days per week. The role reports to the General Counsel and supports employment, labor, and HR matters across jurisdictions.

The position offers an annual discretionary bonus and a path to grow into a Deputy GC role for the right candidate. Strong leadership and risk management skills are essential to drive compliance and mitigate workplace risk.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Experience advising HR and executives on wage-hour, discrimination, leave, and safety laws.
• Strong ability to oversee external counsel and manage risk.

Responsibilities

• Advise HR, leadership, and business leaders on employment laws across jurisdictions.
• Manage and respond to employment-related claims, audits, investigations, and litigation matters.
• Provide guidance on employee discipline, terminations, and workforce reductions.
• Draft and review employment agreements, policies, and handbook updates.
• Supervise paralegals and legal assistants supporting employment matters.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel, overseeing timelines and budgets.
