Job summary

Belcan seeks a Senior Laboratory Technologist to support research, prototype fixture development, and testing in our Materials Science laboratories in Norwood, MA. The role emphasizes hands-on electromechanical systems, instrumentation, electronics, and machining expertise.

The successful candidate will design and maintain test setups, troubleshoot equipment, assist with testing activities, and ensure safe, efficient lab operations while collaborating with researchers across programs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics or related field.
• At least 10 years hands-on experience in lab, testing, or engineering environments.
• Experience with laboratory safety practices and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, assemble, modify, and maintain laboratory equipment and test setups.
• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
• Support testing activities, data collection, and development of test procedures.
• Fabricate custom fixtures and test apparatus to support research projects.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, and lab operations.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety requirements and best practices.
• Contribute innovative solutions to technical challenges.
