Job summary

START Research seeks a Senior Laboratory Technician to support the Labs and PK team in adherence to phase 1 protocols. The role covers point‑of‑care testing, specimen handling, storage, and shipping under GLP/SOP guidelines.

Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with weekend on‑call rotations in West Valley City, UT. Responsibilities include labeling, chain of custody, processing, QA/QC review, and communication of critical results.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Experience (2 years) in a laboratory setting with safety protocols.
• Experience in data management and logistics.
• Experience with electronic medical records and laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform CLIA‑waived, point‑of‑care, and other authorized laboratory testing.
• Prepare specimens for shipping and external labs per protocol.
• Label, document, and track specimens with chain of custody.
• Operate and maintain approved lab equipment per procedures.
• Review analyzer alerts and QC results; escalate if needed.
• Enter results in electronic data systems and ensure completeness.
• Assist with proficiency testing, audits, and quality improvement.
• Maintain readiness for inspections and regulatory reviews.
• Adhere to SOPs, GLPs, and safety regulations.
• On‑call rotation for emergencies and specimen storage.
