Job summary

Headlands Research in Stockbridge, GA is seeking a Laboratory Technician/Phlebotomist for the Clinical Research Atlanta site. This full-time onsite role offers growth within a dynamic clinical lab environment.

You will lead day-to-day lab operations, perform phlebotomy, and support specimen handling, documentation, and regulatory compliance. This position emphasizes ownership and advancement in clinical research beyond routine phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Proficient venipuncture with ability to draw on difficult sticks.
• Experience with diverse patient populations; geriatric experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and basic lab procedures.
• Comfort with lab equipment, documentation, and regulated processes.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computer systems (Excel, Outlook, EMRs).

Responsibilities

• Own the Lab Operations: lead day-to-day lab activities, ensure safety and schedule, manage inventory across studies.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen processing (centrifuging, aliquoting, labeling) and point-of-care testing.
• Assist with patient visits, including vital signs and study-related procedures; support broader clinical activities over time.
• Ensure compliance with IATA, GCP, OSHA, HIPAA and study protocols; support audit readiness.
