Job summary

Headlands Research is seeking a Laboratory Technician/Phlebotomist for our Southfield, MI site. You will lead lab operations, perform phlebotomy and specimen processing, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced clinical research environment.

Qualifications

Certified phlebotomist with state certification (MI).
Proficient venipuncture with ability to draw independently and handle difficult sticks.
Experience working with diverse patient populations; geriatric experience is a plus/required.
Familiarity with medical terminology and basic lab procedures; accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

Own the Lab Operations: lead day-to-day lab activities, maintain a clean, organized lab, and manage inventory across studies.
Perform & Expand Clinical Skills: phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, point-of-care testing, and assist with patient visits.
Drive Accuracy & Compliance: ship specimens per IATA guidelines, document data in eCRFs/EMR, ensure GCP/OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
Be a Key Partner to the Research Team: support study visits, coordinate with staff, and assist broader research activities.
