Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Lab Support Engineer with deep expertise in Windows operating systems, hardware configuration, virtualization, and lab environment maintenance.

This role is essential for supporting test environments, managing lab inventory, and ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant lab operations for testing and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware components including hard drives, memory, and peripherals.
• Manage VMware environments, including creating and maintaining VM images and snapshots in multiple languages.
• Install and maintain software packages and monthly updates from MSDN.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on test PCs and virtual machines.
• Perform lab cleanup, including hardware removal and proper disposal.
• Set up and maintain network configurations, including static IPs and physical connections.
• Apply monthly Windows updates to physical and virtual machines.
• Create and manage file servers, backups, and perform file restoration as needed.
• Maintain detailed lab inventory and documentation.
• Create and manage Ghost images for system deployment and recovery.
• Analyze bi-weekly Information Security reports and remediate identified issues.
• Execute automated tests and perform basic scripting tasks (preferably using VBScript).
• Apply basic programming knowledge to support automation and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in IT support, lab operations, or infrastructure engineering.
• Expert-level knowledge of Windows 10/11 OS, hardware installation, and system configuration.
• Strong experience with VMware and virtualization technologies.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and lab network setup.
• Experience with file server management, backup solutions, and system imaging.
• Familiarity with security protocols, certificate installation, and compliance practices.
• Basic scripting skills (VBScript preferred) and exposure to automated testing tools.
