Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Public Health is seeking a Procurement and Mailroom Supervisor to oversee purchase of supplies, inventory control, and courier coordination for the Public Health Laboratories and Environmental Services Laboratories in the Hayne Building. The role ensures compliance with purchasing policies and contract terms.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating receiving, storage, distribution, and occasional travel for emergencies, as well as supporting

Qualifications

• Supervises and coordinates procurement, mailroom, and supply room activities.
• Oversees inventory control and contract compliance for PHL/EA Laboratories.
• Ensures proper use of online systems for vendors, shipments, and orders.
• Plans and directs receiving, storing, and distribution of laboratory supplies.
• Able to train and supervise staff; strong numeric and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs mailroom operations for PHL/EA laboratories and coordinates courier services.
• Oversees planning, organizing, and supervising purchases of supplies, chemicals, and gases.
• Manages inventory audits and ensures timely delivery and storage of items.
• Supervises staff, conducts performance appraisals, and recommends promotions/salary adjustments.
• Performs duties during emergencies and may require travel outside normal hours.
