Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Public Health seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to manage the Biosurveillance Unit within the Chemistry Section. You will oversee OD2A activities, supervise staff, and ensure adherence to CLIA and QA/QC standards.

Ideal candidates have a chemistry background with hands-on experience in analytical instrumentation (LC-MS/MS, GC/MSD, ICP-MS, HRMS) and a track record in toxicology testing and data reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry with lab experience operating/reading complex instrumentation.
• Master’s degree preferred with hands-on analytical instrumentation experience.
• Doctorate may substitute for required experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operation of the Biosurveillance Unit in the Chemistry Section.
• Oversee OD2A program and grant expenditures.
• Ensure CLIA compliance and quality assurance.
