Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers is seeking an Area Lab Manager to oversee laboratory operations across 12 locations with five direct reports. The role combines leadership with strong compliance and budgeting responsibilities, ensuring high-quality patient testing.

Applicants should have a Medical Technology degree and ASCP certification, plus active licensure as required. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science.
• ASCP or equivalent certification.
• Current state licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the clinical operations of all labs in assigned areas, including Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Proficiency Testing.
• Reviews QC/QA/PT for labs and ensures compliance with CLIA, state and federal regulations.
• Supervises laboratory staff and develops performance objectives and goals.
• Establishes procedures for QA, QC and PT, and participates in writing procedures.
• Evaluates qualifications of potential employees and ensures CLIA/COLA requirements are met.
• Assists in budget development and procurement of laboratory equipment; liaises with vendors and corporate purchasing.
• Directs use of correct charge/CPT codes and documents per reimbursement guidelines.
• Performs cost analyses on major equipment and advises leadership on efficiency.
• Serves as liaison with reference labs and vendor customer service to ensure best service and pricing.
