Job summary

Englewood Health in Englewood, NJ, is seeking a Lab Assistant to support the Lab Office, train new hires, and cover for the Lab Office Supervisor as needed. The role requires more than 2 years of Lab Assistant experience, a high school diploma (advanced education preferred), and strong communication.

Hours are 6:00am–2:00pm with rotating weekends, and duties include QA projects and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

Greater than 2 years' experience as a Lab Assistant.
High School Diploma, higher education preferred.
Advanced knowledge of the processing of specimens for Reference Laboratory testing.
Advanced skills for the processing of specimens for specialty testing.
Previous exposure to Laboratory terminology.
Excellent communication and public relation skills.
Familiarity with computer terminals, keyboards, printers, and PCs.

Responsibilities

Trains Lab Assistants in all areas of the Lab Office and mentors colleagues.
Assumes responsibility for areas in the Lab Office and covers in the supervisor's absence.
Performs duties per Lab Assistant job description and maintains QA projects.
Attends meetings as required.
Maintains procedures and QA projects with Lab Office Supervisor.
Maintains quality, safety, and patient/employee confidentiality.
Meets regulatory and annual health assessment requirements.
Exhibits professionalism and service excellence in interactions.
