Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a certified Lab Manager in the Miami area to lead the geotechnical and construction materials laboratory. You will oversee safety, equipment calibration, staff performance, and the delivery of accurate test results in alignment with QA/QMS policies.

You will mentor technicians, coordinate schedules, and collaborate with project managers to support business development while upholding industry accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of laboratory testing experience.
• Must maintain basic concrete and/or soils lab certifications.
• Must be able to lift 60-80 pounds.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with peers, supervisors, and clients.
• Knowledge of ASTM testing standards.

Responsibilities

• Promote laboratory safety culture and PPE use; ensure calibration and maintenance of equipment per schedule.
• Lead activities and personnel in geotechnical and construction materials testing; manage technician schedules.
• Oversee soils testing like Atterberg limits, gradation, moisture content, proctor tests.
• Oversee concrete testing, labeling, curing, temperature logs and breaking samples.
• Prepare and review reports and data; perform calculations and data reduction.
• Mentor lab staff and coordinate work, support project managers and business development.
