Job summary

Leidos seeks an Infrastructure Implementation Engineer to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector, focusing on the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of lab and data center infrastructure for FAA modernization programs.

You own low-level designs, documentation lifecycle, and serve as a technical authority on the lab floor, guiding technicians and coordinating with system administrators to ensure designs are realized accurately and traceable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, CS or related field with 4+ years' experience or a master's with 2+ years.
• Ability to produce detailed infrastructure documentation.
• Practical understanding of data center or lab infrastructure (cabling, power, racks, network hardware).
• Experience with commissioning, validating, or accepting infrastructure installations.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals for port assignments and connectivity decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop low-level infrastructure designs including rack elevations, wiring lists, and BOMs.
• Produce installation work packages enabling technicians to work independently.
• Commission new installations and close punch-lists against design intent.
• Maintain as-built documentation and configuration baselines with redlines and version control.
• Provide technical direction to hardware technicians onsite and manage field questions.
• Serve as engineering escalation for physical/integration troubleshooting.
• Lead design reviews and defend implementation decisions before construction.
• Interface with procurement and engineering on hardware delivery and RMAs.
• Develop standards, templates, labeling schemes, and repeatable deployment processes.
• Support compliance by ensuring installations meet security, segmentation, and labeling standards.
