Job summary

Providence Regional Medical Center Everett is seeking a Senior Laboratory Assistant to perform clinical lab duties including phlebotomy, data entry, and specimen handling for testing in LIS and at reference labs.

Responsibilities include venipuncture on pediatric and adult patients, ordering tests in LIS, and processing specimens such as blood, urine, cultures, and other body fluids in a fast-paced clinical setting. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and related certifications.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification or Washington Medical Assistant Certification.
• If Providence Swedish NPS Phlebotomy Training Program completed, 3 months post hire to obtain MA-P.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy: performs venipuncture and capillary procedures on pediatric and adult inpatients and outpatients.
• Data Entry: orders testing in LIS; cancels and redraws orders per policy; documents communication with care team in LIS.
• Handles and processes specimens for testing (blood, urine, cultures, body fluids) at PRMCE and reference labs.
