Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA is hiring a Senior Laboratory Assistant on a per-diem basis. The role involves collecting and processing blood specimens across neonate to geriatric in-patients and ER patients, with additional outpatient collection support.

The position includes inoculation of microbiology specimens and referral testing preparation. Qualified candidates will have California Phlebotomy Technician I or II certification upon hire, and ideally 1 year of lab

Qualifications

• California Phlebotomy Technician I or II certification required upon hire.
• Preferred 1 year of laboratory phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood specimens from neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric in-patients, emergency room and other services as needed.
• Assist outpatient specimen collection and processing.
• Inoculate microbiology specimens onto primary media and prepare specimens for referral testing.
