Job summary

Providence is seeking a Sr Lab Assistant at St. Joseph Hospital-Orange in Orange, CA. Under supervision, you will ensure accurate drawing, receipt, centrifugation, and delivery of lab specimens, with duties including phlebotomy, specimen processing, and instrument loading.

This role requires California Phlebotomy Technician I or II license and 1 year experience in phlebotomy or lab support. Preferred: 2 years in blood collection and processing.

Qualifications

• California Phlebotomy Technician I or II license upon hire.
• 1 year of phlebotomy or lab assistant experience with blood collection, processing, centrifuging, and handling send-out specimens.

Responsibilities

• Draw and receive specimens, centrifuge, and deliver to appropriate departments and reference labs.
• Perform specimen processing, accessioning, plating and setup, and load specimens on instruments.
• Perform basic instrument maintenance as needed in Chemistry, Hematology, and Pathology.
