Job summary

NVIDIA is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Management Plane to own Kubernetes-based cluster management on customer-managed infrastructure. You will design controllers, build scalable infrastructure, and mentor engineers while delivering production-ready software.

You will work across bare metal, virtualization, and cloud environments, driving performance, security, and reliability in complex distributed systems. Strong Go/C++/Rust/Java skills and Kubernetes expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in a systems language (Go/C++/Rust/Java).
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with distributed systems and CI/CD tooling.
• Solid Linux fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate management plane capabilities for cluster lifecycle: compose, upgrade, scale, repair, delete.
• Architect Kubernetes controllers, operators, and CRDs in Go with idempotent reconciliation.
• Drive automated provisioning across bare metal, virtualized, and cloud environments.
• Lead technical builds: build docs, reviews, and cross-team alignment.
• Improve performance, reliability, and security of distributed systems; debug production issues.
• Own test strategy and automated pipelines (unit/integration/e2e).
• Mentor engineers and ensure clear runbooks and documentation.
• Prioritize tasks while maintaining code quality.
