Horizon3 is a fast-growing, remote cybersecurity company focused on finding and fixing exploitable attack vectors before criminals do. We are seeking a senior offensive security engineer to lead Kubernetes attack capabilities in NodeZero, researching attacker movement and turning that research into safe, repeatable capabilities within the platform.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes security and offensive testing of containerized environments.
• Expert understanding of Kubernetes architecture and RBAC, service accounts, workloads, and cluster boundaries.
• Strong Python engineering skills and experience productizing security research into reliable automation.
• Experience with penetration testing, red teaming, vulnerability research, container security, or offensive security tooling.
• Ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional technical work and communicate attack paths clearly.
• A safety/product mindset to distinguish theoretical weaknesses from reproducible findings.

Responsibilities

• Lead offensive security research into Kubernetes clusters, workloads, identities, configurations, and cloud-connected environments.
• Design and build production-quality Python attack capabilities modeling attacker perspectives.
• Develop and validate attack paths involving Kubernetes RBAC, service accounts, workloads, secrets, and cloud identities.
• Assess Kubernetes security weaknesses and validate meaningful impact with safe testing.
• Own planning for substantial Kubernetes initiatives and coordinate delivery with Product, platform, and engineering partners.
• Integrate attack content into NodeZero execution and results flows for reliable evidence and explanations.
• Review code and designs, mentor teammates, and share Kubernetes offensive-security expertise.
• Document methodologies, assumptions, limitations, and test approaches for enablement.
