Job summary
Cherokee Federal is hiring a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to design, deploy, and scale containerized apps in AWS EKS, collaborating with development and security teams to ensure a secure, highly available environment.
You will drive automation with Helm, Kustomize, and CI/CD pipelines while leveraging Grafana and Istio for observability and reliability across microservices.
Strong communication skills and a background enabling a Public Trust clearance are essential for this role.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts (pods, services, deployments).
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience managing Kubernetes within AWS EKS environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain Kubernetes deployments in AWS EKS.
- Automate deployment and scaling processes to improve efficiency.
- Monitor cluster health and troubleshoot issues to ensure availability and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams on CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
- Implement security best practices including network policies and disaster recovery.
- Manage observability tooling and integrate new Kubernetes features as needed.
