Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Content Implementation to drive end-to-end item and test development for large-scale K–12 statewide programs. You will lead client-facing content development, translate standards into specifications, and coordinate cross-functional teams across Psychometrics, Content, Publishing Services, and Finance.

You will guide assessment design, manage schedules, and oversee AI-enabled content workflows while ensuring quality, accessibility, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years in educational testing/assessment with client-facing and cross-functional leadership.
• Expertise in item/test development for statewide K–12 assessments (paper and online).
• Knowledge of psychometric principles relevant to development.
• Experience with statewide assessments; classroom teaching valued.
• Proficiency with project and financial planning.
• Strong vendor management and communication skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving and time-management strengths.
• Willingness to travel year-round.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end item and test development for large-scale K–12 statewide assessments and serve as the primary client-facing content leader.
• Translate standards and blueprints into actionable item and test specifications; secure client approvals and maintain docs.
• Configure item bank metadata and test maps; oversee paper and online form assembly.
• Create and manage labor/non-salary forecasts; participate in forecast/finance meetings.
• Lead scope discussions with vendors; initiate SOWs and coordinate escalations.
• Maintain content development schedules and change control in agreed tools.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and ensure accessibility and security.
