Job summary

Maricopa County's Public Defender department seeks a Justice System Clerk Senior to manage the full lifecycle of case files, from opening to closing, ensuring accuracy for attorneys and clients. You will liaise with the Court and support both internal and external customers in a fast-paced environment.

This role includes training new staff and offers hybrid or flexible schedules, including up to five days from home per pay period after training.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time progressively responsible legal, court, or justice system administrative experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Post-secondary education may substitute for up to two years of the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, update, and edit case management records.
• Audit caseloads, research case weight, and resolve data transaction errors.
• Interpret and enter data from sentencing reports and other minute entries.
• Assist customers with requests for electronic or physical records and troubleshoot process problems.
• Provide new hire training, cross-training, and refresher training for employees.
• Cover Supervisors in the absence of the Justice System Clerk Lead and Supervisors.
