Job summary

Gensler in New York is seeking a Job Captain to blend creativity with technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You’ll be part of the design team, making architecture engaging.

You will partner with Project Architect to produce accurate technical and contract documentation, coordinate design intent, participate in construction administration, and work with consultants, contractors, and regulators to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 5–8 years post-graduation experience.
• Experience with Critical Facilities or similar complex projects.
• Knowledge of codes, zoning, materials, specs, and construction techniques.
• Experience in construction document prep and field observation.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Proficient in Revit, Rhino, SketchUp and other 3D tools.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Portfolio and resume in PDF format required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Architect to produce technical and contract documentation for construction.
• Coordinate design intent within construction documentation.
• Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address issues, and maintain QC.
• Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, spec writers, and regulators.
• Use hand and 3D renderings to communicate design concepts.
